Handmade Wooden Spoon Making Process And Tutorial

Hand-made wooden spoons, when a small piece of intact wood slowly becomes a spoon of fine or coarse ore, the whole process is obsessed.

The process and production method of making a handmade wooden spoon:

1. With a pencil, draw the shape of the spoon you want on the wood, then with a hand saw, cut the spoon along the lines.

2. According to your needs, start to dig the middle of the spoon. It is recommended that you do not need to dig too deep. The depth of the bottom of the spoon, whether it is curved or flat, depends on your needs.

When carving, it is recommended to fix it on the table with even force.

3. When the part of the spoon is roughly carved, use a pencil to draw the shape of the outer edge of the spoon and the part of the handshake

4. Start to deal with the outer edge of the spoon and the part of the handshake, use a knife a little bit, cut out the shape of the spoon handle from top to bottom, and then use a file to polish, especially the arc position.

A file is not required, but a file can have a rounded edge.

5. Now that the approximate shape has come out, continue to scrape the part of the spoon with less force and scrape the inner wall of the spoon more evenly, so as to better control the shape of the spoon and the bottom will be flatter, and the final surface effect will be better.

6. Now use sandpaper to polish, which is a delicate job. Use 300 grit sandpaper (600 grit can also be used), 180 grit, and 120 grit sandpaper in turn. The spoon will gradually become delicate and round.

7. Finally, use a rag to add natural edible oil, evenly spread the spoon, and wait for drying. Oil can be applied once or 2-3 times.
