1. Do not soak
Generally, we are used to soaking kitchen utensils in water to make it easier to remove greasy. However, wooden spoons and wooden kitchen utensils cannot be treated in this way. They must be cleaned and dried immediately so that moisture will not penetrate them and shorten the service life.
2. Don't put it in the dishwasher or dryer
Dishwashers have a very bad effect on wood products due to the high amount of moisture they contain. Some people even put it in the dishwasher in the hope of getting rid of moisture and moisture as quickly as possible. This tricky method can easily make wood products moldy or even deformed, so be careful.
3. Be gentle in cleaning
Wooden spoons and wooden tableware are different from ceramic tableware, even the vegetable melon cloth can damage the surface coating and scratch the wood, making it easier for dirt to stick to the pores. Therefore, the correct cleaning method is to use a soft sponge, place the tableware under the running water, scrub carefully to remove the oil, and then rinse. At present, there are two types of wood products on the market: "painted" and "unpainted". For unpainted products, you can use a natural cleaner like baking soda if you're concerned about dish soap residue.
4. Dry immediately after cleaning
Washed wooden spoons and wooden tableware are recommended to dry immediately with a clean paper towel or cloth, and then place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry naturally. At the same time, do not stack them, but stand on the tableware rack and keep a proper distance so that the moisture will not condense. Large kitchen utensils such as wooden chopping boards, are stored by hanging or standing up, not close to the wall or lying flat on the table, so that both sides can be kept dry.
5. Choose the storage location carefully
Washed wooden spoons and wooden tableware should be careful not to place them in places with heavy moisture and heat such as gas stoves, microwave ovens, or sinks, and do not expose them to the sun. But it should be placed in a cool and dry place so that it is not easy to deform and crack.
