SGS Verified｜Senyang Bamboo & Wood Products Fully Compliant with EU PPWR Requirements

From 12 August 2026, the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) will officially take effect, replacing the nearly 30‑year‑old Packaging Directive. As a regulation, it carries stronger enforcement and harmonized standards across all member states. Any food‑contact packaging placed on the EU market must meet the new requirements- or risk being banned from sale.

 

To ensure our customers stay ahead of the regulatory curve, Senyangwood has proactively sent our bamboo and wood cutlery, ice cream sticks, coffee stirrers, and other products to SGS (with over 20 years of PFAS testing expertise) for comprehensive testing.

What the Data Means for You

 

Heavy Metals (Pb, Cd, Hg, Cr VI): The SGS report shows method detection limits (MDL) of 5 mg/kg and 8 mg/kg respectively, with all actual readings as "ND" - far below the 100 mg/kg limit.

 

Total Fluorine (PFAS screening): With an MDL of 20 mg/kg, the result is also "ND",  confirming that our products contain no PFAS substances.

 

REACH SVHC: All 253 Substances of Very High Concern on the Candidate List passed the screening, with concentrations ≤0.1%.
